Vocalist/songwriter
Dee Stones musical journey began in York, Pennsylvania.
She briefly studied guitar before finding her true voice,
and began singing professionally at the age of 16. She has
lived and performed on the west coast (mainly Los Angeles),
in Japan, and the mid-Atlantic region. Since 1993, Dee has
lived in northern Virginia, dividing her time between performing
with the Dee Stone Band and raising her three children.
A prolific lyricist,
Dee sings about love, liberation, spirituality, and the human
condition -- sometimes controversial; always honest. Backed
by a power-trio (Tom Newman-guitar, Chuck Carter-bass, Ignatius
Mason-drums), she performs an interesting mix of edgy r&b,
jazz, funk, and spoken word.
